We return to the Alternative Stage for the Warp Music Visuals in the early hours of Sunday morning, and due to the late running one of those wonderful festival moments happens, as we stumble across Tim Ten Yen, purely by chance. He's a clean cut young man, immaculately dressed, and he takes to the stage with a small keyboard, which he places on his lap and plays while singing for the first two songs. The keyboard then gets left at the side of the stage in preset mode, as TTY adds dancing to the spectacle. It's not standard singer-songwriter, nor is it comedy, but conversely nor is it serious. Actually, I'm not sure; you'd probably classify it as variety or cabaret if you had to, but in simple terms this is a man armed with some of the best pure pop songs I've heard in years. He could sell them to Dannii Minogue or Sophie Ellis Bextor for a fortune. Genius stuff. Andy Slocombe - Thurrock Gazette
